50!

That's it, I'm officially fifty years young! And it's officially bloody freezing . . . Although, not as cold as the night of January 22nd 1963 which, apparently, was one of the coldest nights on record during the 1900's

I couldn't access my own Blog for most of the day until Geekster came in from school and fixed it for me . . . something to do with the IP address? It made no sense to me but I can, at least, sign in and write a quick post to mark my Birthday. I still can't bring my snow photos over to the Blog from my photo files . . . I have no idea where the "browse" option has disappeared to. Geekster says he will check it out when he gets back from youth club. I can, however, put a photo on here from the web cam so here we are, or here I am . . . I save the gas to have the heating on when the kids are home. When I'm alone, I'm quite happy to stay wrapped up. The price of gas has risen hideously this year.

So . . . I'm not going to look back on how much, or how little, progress I've made in the sixteen months leading up to today  . . . Instead, I'm going to look forward to the future. I'm feeling quite optimistic on the whole. I'm feeling like I might be about to tap into my creative self some time soon. Yes.

What else? Not a lot really. I'm more pleased than ever that I began and continued with this Blog and I know I've said it before but thanks for being here with me. Really.

Hey, I just checked to see if the browse option had re-appeared . . . No, it hasn't, it's been replaced with a choose files option, Way Hay!! at last. I'll go and fetch a "couple" of pictures of the river, taken on my walk back from school this morning. Love to all x x

    1. Thanks Sherry, Bro got me the hat for Christmas and I was a bit too self conscious to go out in it . . . until it hit minus 5 and I haven't taken it off since! I forget it's even there.
Saw therapist yesterday, will post later (and catch up on blogs). I'm learning so much from her.
Love to you Sherry x x

    1. Thanks Bev . . Black and white photos are more flattering, I find . . . Probably because the greyish skin tone of an addict doesn't look good in colour ;-)
But I have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to. Thanks for being here Bev, I hope you have settled back into routine and peace of mind, with love x x

  4. you are gorgeous, and nowhere near looking like 50. Whatever you have done in your life has obviously not affected your youthful good looks!!!
How right you are to look to the future and all the good things life has in store for you this year.xx
Kia Kaha my friend. Now start saving your pennies for that trip away, surely within the next 5 years!?!

    1. Ah Bless you Laura. Notice I kept my teeth hidden? I have a theory that numbing emotions/feelings reduces wrinkles (kind of a botox effect of the face hardly moving).
I learnt some very interesting stuff at therapy yesterday, hopefully I'll get time to post later . . . It seems I am an "expert avoider" which makes sense.
Just spending my Birthday money on Ebay, on myself!! I just bid on some beautiful Ugg clog boots, among other things . . . I hope I win the auction.
I'd love to think I could do that within the next five years Laura. I need to stay on this ladder and leave fear on the floor, where it belongs.
Love and thanks to you x x

  5. Happy Birthday! (belated)
Very pretty photos. Your trapper hat is nicer than mine -but I went for plaid. If I look bad in hats - might as well go for realbad.

So is the whole world in a cold spell? Do we have an ice age coming? I was looking forward to global warming.

    1. Hi Jeannie, It took me a good few weeks before I dared venture out in it . . . and then it was more to do with the temperature than "bravery". We have more snow forecast this evening, so I won't be taking it off yet.
I'm missing you and your Blog and Dexter, Macy, photos and paintings . . . Have you moved and I've lost you, or are you not blogging?
Hope all is good with you and your family, with love x x

I'm also grateful you were able to post your pictures, they are fabulous! We just had a dusting of snow move through and I have to admit, I was one of the people snapping away with my cell phone it's been so long since I've seen a snowflake!

    1. Hi Lovey, I'm glad you didn't miss it either, thanks ;-)
I was thinking of you and Deven yesterday on my way back from therapy . . . I learned a lot of interesting facts about fear . . . and how to deal with it. I'll try and write a post later.
This therapist has given me a lot of hope (and homework!). I often think of how much hard work you have put into making progress and keeping your relationship alive and healthy. A true inspiration Lovey, take care, with love and thanks x x x

    1. O Laura, I've only just seen this . . . I've posted now. I've been avoiding my own Blog! I'm so sorry. I've not been too busy, I've been in a bit of a pit. I just couldn't face coming here. I've always been honest here and I felt if I couldn't be honest, then best not be here. I'm so sorry that I didn't come here and check for comments, I just didn't think.
I absolutley promise that if this happens again, I will E mail you.
Thanks for caring Laura, it means a lot to me. Have to go get Hamper's lunch as she has waited patiently (sort of) whilst I posted.
I hope all is well with you and your loved ones. Sending you heaps of love on Valentine's Day, Di x x x

  20. Happy Birthday youngster, lol. I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful year. I, too, have had trouble accessing my blog, so I just created another one with the same name. I can't imagine trying to prove who you are on your own damn birth certificate. That would make me crazy. Again, Happy Birthday!
