A light-hearted (ish) visual interlude . . .

Finally my laptop is registering that a "portable device" is plugged into it . . . and we can see some holiday pics. I've whittled them down, and further down, there are still too many, so I'll start with a few for now and then just post random ones here and there.

Washing up in paradise.
I booked the panoramic pitch last year. This ensures that any other tents (room for maybe ten) are behind us, that we have a large private "front garden" and I will show you the view from the tent . . .

This makes me want to cry . . . Ooops sorry I was going to be light-hearted!

Inside the tent. Two comfortable double beds, lounge and kitchen. Let me just explain here . . . The space between the bedrooms is the trailer, the white cupboards are the wheel arches, the whole thing packs into a small trailer that is towed behind the car! A trailer tent.
Ovaltine time for Hamper G . . And all three (yes, I will have to delete this one later, Stropster would not be pleased) of them having a morning cuddle in Geester's bed. I won't dwell on the layout of pictures and text . . . It's  taken me all morning to get them here!

More raw beauty . . .

And below, through a "secret tunnel" . . . into an old slate quarry. Freezing cold water on a beautiful hot day

The blue lagoon . . .

Geekster about to plunge.

Looking down from the top, and across from the top. Thanks to Stropster and Geekster who climbed up to take these

Ok that's enough heartache beauty for one day ;-)

I love Wales, that's all there is to it. I love natural beauty . . . One day I will be there . . . I'm not even gonna spoil this post with any "but, for nows" . . . No, I'll be back later with that.

Huge amounts of love and thanks to you all x

View from the tent down into the estuary.

    1. Hey Sherry, It's what's known as "glamping" . . . If the weather was so good all year, I could honestly truly live in that tent . . . I've lived in smaller places. I just love being out in nature. Maybe when I can drive (when I grow up)I could drive over there with my trailer tent to one of your yoga conventions . . . Who knows eh?
      Thanks x

  3. So beautiful! And the light!!!

That is quite the tent - does it come with the site? (I'm just thinking that's a lot of stuff in there to pack and set up)

I would love to join you there - never been to Wales. We're hoping to get away this coming weekend again but neither of us cares to drive overly far so I'll have to see what I can get.

    1. Hi Jeannie, Isn't it just!
No, there are no tents ready on site, it's more camper vans really. I've edited the post now to explain how it works, and yes it all packs into a trailer that's towed behind the car. Takes about two hours to put up, the chairs and tables travelled in Bro's campervan, they camped further up in the mountains.
You would love it there Jeannie, for painting landscapes and swimming or just chilling. Dex would love it too. I hope you get a good weekend away.

    1. Hi Lovey, It is a beautiful, very under-populated country. That's part of the charm for me; more sheep, less people! I might find an old shepherd one day to adopt me ;-)
      You're welcome Lovey x

  5. Ohhhhh, those kind of naturally beautiful places do my heart good. Truly, I need them. They calm me and give me some peace in this crazy world. I am so glad you got to go to such a beautiful place....even though I know that a lot has come up for you and the trip had its challenges. All of those things will work themselves out in time. I believe that completely...have faith and courage my friend. Thanks for sharing with us.

    1. Yeah Annette, me too. I really need to be closer to the place. Once(or even twice)a year is not enough to counterbalance the crazy.
I am facing the challenges one by one, I saw the Dr today and have been reffered for CBT (cogntive behavioural therapy) . . . Plus Prozac in the meantime . . . And faith and courage!
I will write more on it as I work through it. I could write all day at the moment. Love to you Annette x

    1. Hi Kiwigirl, O Yeah, I'd forgotten about Turangawaewae! This place is definitely mine. I will Google Waihi beach. I'd heard that NZ was similar to parts of Wales . . . And many sheep in common, maybe I could find a shepherd over there to adopt me!
      Love to you Kiwigirlx

  8. Absolutely gorgeous!! You sure know how to camp. It's never that glamorous and clean when we go and right now I'm wondering why I've settled for less all these years, lol. I never knew Wales was so beautiful. I would love to live there.

    1. Hi Jenn, I will post some pics of our river walk soon, the river that reminded me of you. I kept the "people pics" for another day. This part of Wales is in the North; The Snowdonia National Park, it is immense and stunning. They're selling parts of it off and my Bro's friend has bought the side of a mountain.
Fortunately they're very strict about how the land is used (even though you technically own it). He is only allowed to stay there for a number of weeks per year, and it has to be wild camping, nothing is to be built on the land (only a compost toilet) it's amazing.
I knew you would love it x

  11. What a beautiful place and lovely children. I echo above about stropster, bet her has all the girls after him hehe.
Wales is nice. Is that North Wales you were in? If you like views, have you ever been to Scotland? Much colder, but there are some really wonderfully pretty places there.

    1. Hi Kim, Thanks, yes I dare say he does ;-) He's very grounded though; working to complete his apprenticeship as mechanic, get his license (he's car mad) and his own place(!) . . . Sensible lad!
Yeah, The Snowdonia National Park. I haven't yet been to Scotland but it too has much natural beauty. As do most places really, I would just like to live nearer to some of it . . . One day.
Hope things are improving with you Kim x

    1. The E's C . . . I will be sneaking them in; my short, short list was approx fifty so plenty more to come.
I'll write a post later but I started on Prozac (for now) whilst I wait for CBT (cogntive behavioural therapy)and assessment. Feeling a little nauseous which I suspect is part of the transistion to get "on" the pills. I was impressed with my Dr though, she listened!
      Thinking of you both x

  16. Such beautiful pictures! The forest ones are so breathtaking. I can almost feel the cool, misty air and smell the lushness of it. What a wonderful place to wake up to. It's nice to see pictures of a place I will never get to visit so thanks for sharing.

Your kids are positively adorable and little Hamper G is the cutest thing. :-)

Hope your doing okay and recovering from the exhaustion of vacation. (At least that's how I always feel...wishing it wasn't over but glad to be home. And why do vacations wear us out anyway, lol. Maybe it's just me.)

    Love and hugs to you,

    1. Thanks Summer,
I could walk all day through those rivers and trees. If I were alone, I could live wild (in the right climate).
It was quite a lot of work, as is anywhere with three kids but for the most part it was enjoyable.
It's not just you, we all seem to go away thinking it will be relaxing . . . I'm not sure why I'm still surprised after all these years that it's actually a very busy time. . . . Now, if I could camp there alone for a week, I would truly chill ;-) (sigh) Maybe one day.
Much love sent to you Summer x

    1. It is a good thing to share with them Lori, you're right. The lads (13 and 17) revert back to being boys again and build stuff in the sand and play out in the dinghy on the waves, so does Hamper G. It's great to see.
I can't wait to read of your travels, that'll be amazing. Love sent your way x
