Now that's what I call . . . Dancing!!

Had a taste of  the "Mania" side effect earlier (Thursday evening). In fact I'm still coming down which is why I find myself, once again, awake at nearly  past 4 am!!  This can't be good for physical recovery can it? I thought sleep was one of  the best forms of recovery known. I do from time to time get a little natural mania but not enough to bother me. In fact quite the opposite. I just take advantage and do some usually well overdue cleaning. But this was way beyond that. It just kept on escalating and I was getting a tad concerned where it might all end. Plus it was accompanied by palpitations and a general increase in heart rate. I did my best to ignore this, as I know from past experiences with speed/coke etc that paying it too much attention  is not a good idea.
So as I was simultaneously putting washing in washer/drying in dryer/food in the oven/weekly shopping in the cupboards and getting very animated about nothing . . . I found myself singing an old song. Well truthfully Stropster found me singing it and asked what it was. I told him. We found it on you tube. We listened to it and danced. We played air trombones, saxophones, trumpets, pianos. We sang and laughed. It went well with the mania. It felt good. I can see why you good folk out there who have experienced the free high that is "mania" want some more of it. I have to try and sleep but I will  post this up first. Dancing . . . da de da da da Dancing!!

  1. I have never been manic. I could do with a small dose maybe but I am more inclined to anxiety and paranoia which is not at all pleasant.

  2. Yes its a pity we can't pick & mix a little dose of whatever is required. I only usually get anxiety or paranoia if I smoke weed. So I tend not to. It must be awful to get it naturally. Do you have meds for this or find other ways of coping?

  3. Yay for mania! Before being diagnosed bipolar, eye used to tell people eye have "the good kind of anxiety" and just thought everyone else was lazy! No one understood what eye was talking about.

Eye often wonder if past use of uppers make one more prone to palpitations later in life.

  4. I totally agree with wot eyelick was wondering about uppers making one prone to palpitations, panic attacks....but i also know that steroids are a different kettle of fish.I am wary of them, they have icky side effects...but a bit of mania is fun...especially as energy is wot u were lacking.Oh,i hope your chest gets better,i'm sending you some white light <3 (well... it works with the cats...)

Not sure if pass use of uppers can cause palpitations . . . maybe?
Yes me too, very wary of steroids and their whiskery side effects, but I know from past penny penching doctors who have tried me on Anti-biotics/Penicillin alone, I would have been twice as breathless and ill by now. They would've eventually had to prescribe them. He did right to do it immediately. I'm definitely a lot better. What's good enough for the cats is good enough for me!! x x x
